The launch of “Persianate Cinema Series” with “Gholam” a film by Mitra Tabrizian

The screening of “Gholam” by Mitra Tabrizian, marks the launch of The Persianate Cinema Series, a new initiative by the Jaleh Esfahani Cultural Foundation (JECF) in collaboration with SOAS, University of London, dedicated to showcasing film and moving image practices from across the Persianate world and its diasporas. The series aims to create a space for critical engagement with cinema that traverses national boundaries, foregrounding questions of identity, migration, gender, and political memory.
The launch event will feature a short talk and Q&A with director Mitra Tabrizian, offering a unique opportunity to engage directly with her work and practice. The event will be followed by a drinks reception.
