Screening “My Favourite Cake” – The Persianate Cinema Series Presents
For the second movie in the Persianate Cinema Series we will be screening My Favourite Cake , a tender, quietly subversive Iranian tragicomedy that follows Mahin, a 70-year-old widow in Tehran. Craving companionship, she breaks her solitary routine and boldly invites a single retired taxi driver, Faramarz, to her home. Their blossoming, late-in-life romance transforms into a poignant, heartwarming exploration of joy, freedom, and human connection.
The film is in Persian with English subtitles.
Directed by Maryam Moghadam, Behtash Sanaeeha, with lead actors Lili Farhadpour and Esmaeel Mehrabi. A film made in 2024.
