{"id":170,"date":"2021-05-19T16:23:03","date_gmt":"2021-05-19T16:23:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/jalehesfahani.com\/en\/?p=170"},"modified":"2021-06-24T10:08:05","modified_gmt":"2021-06-24T10:08:05","slug":"11th-poetry-prize-announcement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jalehesfahani.com\/en\/2021\/05\/19\/11th-poetry-prize-announcement\/","title":{"rendered":"11th Poetry Prize announcement"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Calls for\nthe 11<sup>th<\/sup> poetry festival participation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jaleh Esfahani Cultural Foundation is\nproud to announce the 11<sup>th<\/sup> poetry contest of year 2021. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Foundation\u2019s aim is to encourage\nand support young poets from the three Persian speaking countries and around\nthe world to participate in this contest especially those whose talent remains\nin the shadow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To further this goal, in 2018, a\nselected collection of 8 years poetry prize winners was translated into English\nand published as a bilingual work.<a href=\"#_ftn1\">[1]<\/a>\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the first time, this year\u2019s\npoetry contest brings together young poets from Iran, Afghanistan and\nTajikistan. The work of contestants from each country is reviewed and evaluated\nby a panel of judges from each country and one winner from each country will be\nannounced in a grand ceremony on January 29, 2021 via Zoom application. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The prize for this year winner is\n\u00a3500 cash. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How to participate in the 2021 poetry\ncontest?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1-Each\ncontestant is expected to send 5 pieces of poetry to the poetry contest\nsecretariat before 31 October 2020. Email: <a href=\"mailto:javanan2020@jalehesfahani.com\">javanan2020@jalehesfahani.com<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>All work\nsubmitted should be in Farsi (for Tajikistan in Cyrillic) in pdf format. <\/li><li>Each piece must\nbe coded by a number (even if it has a title).<\/li><li>The file and\npoet\u2019s name in both Farsi and English must be attached to the file in a\nseparate sheet.&nbsp; <\/li><li>A separate sheet\nmust have the poet\u2019s details, address, phone number and a photo.<\/li><li>The contestants\nmust be under 30 years of age.<\/li><li>By sending their\npoetry to the Foundation, the contestants will give permission to have their\npoetry published on the Foundation\u2019s website.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Judges and the selection process<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The secretariat\ncomprised of members from the 3 countries will read and inspect each work sent\nto them in the order mentioned above and then send the approved list to the\njudges.<\/li><li>The judges will\nread, inspect and evaluate the works of 3 to 5 poets in a long list. This list\nwill be published on the Foundation\u2019s site by December 2020.<\/li><li>The ceremony to\nannounce the final winners would be held through the Zoom application as due to\nthe Covid-19 it would not be possible to be held in London University as was\ncustomary done the years before.<\/li><li>The finalists\nwill be chosen by consensus or the majority vote.<\/li><li>Judges in the 11<sup>th<\/sup>\npoetry prize contest are:<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr Alireza Abiz, Ms Shirin Razavian,\nMs Modjgan Sagar, Mr Hadi Shafiee, Ms Azita Ghahreman, Mr Ali Abdolahi,Mr Reza\nMohamadi and Mr Rostam Vahabzadeh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;The Foundation is proud to announce that Mr\nEsmael Khoie, who was in the panel of judges for 8 years has accepted our\ninvitation to advise the board of judges. <br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"#_ftnref1\">[1]<\/a>\nThe Anthems of Love, translated by Rouhi Shafii and published both in Iran and\noutside.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Calls for the 11th poetry festival participation Jaleh Esfahani Cultural Foundation is proud to announce the 11th poetry contest of year 2021.
